Welcome to Nuggy’s Dog Diary!
This is Our story

Hi, I’m Radek — and this is Nuggy.

Nuggy is a Cardigan Corgi with a brindle coat, bat ears, and an obsession with food that got us both into trouble more than once.
It started with a grape. He stole one off my plate, I didn’t think twice — until I googled it 10 minutes later. I spent the next hour on the phone with our vet, heart pounding, convinced I’d just poisoned my dog.
He was fine. But I wasn’t okay with how little I knew.

After that, I started paying real attention. What can he eat, what can’t he? What actually keeps a dog calm and happy at home? What do vets say about enrichment, about grooming, about the treats I’d been buying without reading the label?
I read a lot. I tested more. Some things worked great. Some didn’t. And slowly, I built up a real understanding of what works for Nuggy — and what’s just noise. That’s what this blog is.

Everything here comes from hands-on experience with one real dog. Not theory, not SEO-optimized filler — actual stuff I’ve tried, verified with our vet, and would use again.

What you’ll find here:

Homemade treat recipes that use ingredients you already have. Enrichment ideas that genuinely work for high-energy dogs. Honest answers to questions like “can my dog eat this?” — with the context that matters, not just yes or no. Everyday dog care that doesn’t require expensive products or complicated routines. If something is potentially dangerous, I say so clearly. If something is overhyped, I skip it. If our vet flagged something, I include that too.

Why homemade?

Because when I started making Nuggy’s treats myself, I knew exactly what was in them. No fillers, no mystery ingredients, no xylitol hiding in the peanut butter. It’s cheaper, it’s safer, and Nuggy clearly prefers it — which probably says something.

Why a blog?

Because every time I figured something out — a recipe that actually worked, a trick that stopped Nuggy’s separation anxiety, a food that turned out to be more dangerous than I expected — I wanted to write it down somewhere that other dog owners could find it.

That’s this. A place where real experience with a real dog is the whole point.

If you’re here, you probably care a lot about your dog. That means you’re already doing something right.

Welcome to Nuggy’s Dog Diary.
